چکیده

Abstract Structural Finite Element Analysis was performed to study the delamination behaviour of layer laminated REBCO tapes using a Solid-Shell element under various loading conditions, including (1) transverse tensile delamination, (2) shear and (3) peeling delamination. A is well suited simulate tape because material thickness all layers can be specified within single element. The results obtained from models utilizing elements are compared more computationally intensive method known as Cohesive Zone Method (CZM), which has successfully modelled initiation propagation REBCO’s [1]. show that stress state in directions accurately captured by proposed employing if measured experimentally for specific used failure criteria. In this work, criteria adopted previous experimental studies 50 MPa direction 10 direction. This work provides time-efficient modelling tool predict mitigate complex systems.

Finite Element Delamination Study of a Notched Composite Plate under Flexural Loads - André Nilsson Asp

The delamination process in notched composite plates under flexural loading has been investigated using finite element analysis. Cohesive elements implemented in the commercial finite element package ABAQUS have been used in the region around the drilled-hole, and positioned between layers where delamination was observed during experiments presented in an accompanying paper. The delamination in...

Determination of Weld Loads and Throat Requirements Using Finite Element Analysis with Shell Element Models — A Comparison with Classical Analysis

Finite element analysis (FEA) has become a practical method of predicting stresses and deflection for loaded structures. FEA accurately identifies the load path, which can be difficult using classical analysis with complex structures. FEA shell element models are effective for predicting loads in weldments fabricated from plate, sheet, structural shapes and tube. The formulation used for a fini...

Explicit Nonlinear Finite Element Geometric Analysis of Parabolic Leaf Springs under Various Loads

This study describes the effects of bounce, brake, and roll behavior of a bus toward its leaf spring suspension systems. Parabolic leaf springs are designed based on vertical deflection and stress; however, loads are practically derived from various modes especially under harsh road drives or emergency braking. Parabolic leaf springs must sustain these loads without failing to ensure bus and pa...
